Truncus Arteriosus with Interrupted Aortic Arch: Aortic Arch Reconstruction Without Circulatory Arrest

چکیده

Abstract Truncus arteriosus (TA) with interrupted aortic arch (IAA) is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly. Traditionally, IAA would require period of deep hypothermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) for reconstruction. DHCA may cause myocardial depression and neuro-developmental dysfunction. repair presently being performed low-flow selective cerebral perfusion distal body arrest. Even though this prevents adverse effects DHCA, there still risk to the spinal cord kidneys. Here, we describe reconstruction by maintaining total without any periods in neonate TA IAA.

Repair of persistent truncus arteriosus with interrupted aortic arch.

OBJECTIVE The aim of our study was to analyse experience with repair of truncus arteriosus with interrupted aortic arch. METHODS Between 1993 and 2004, eight consecutive patients underwent repair of truncus arteriosus with interrupted aortic arch. The median age was 6.5 days (range 1-85 days) and median weight was 3.2 kg (range 2.6-4.8 kg). Five patients had type A and 3 patients had type B a...

Aortic arch reconstruction using regional perfusion without circulatory arrest.

OBJECTIVES Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest during repair of aortic arch anomalies may induce neurological complications or myocardial injury. Regional cerebral and myocardial perfusion may eliminate those potential side effects. METHODS From March 2000 to March 2002, 48 neonates or infants with complex arch anomaly were operated on using the regional perfusion technique. Thirty-three pati...

Aortic Arch Thrombosis Mimicking Interrupted Aortic Arch

We report a case of a 32-week-gestation male who presented initially with symptoms suggestive of an interrupted aortic arch. The absence of a VSD prompted further investigations, including a CT angiogram, which revealed that he had an extensive thrombus in his aorta. He underwent a successful aortic thrombectomy with arch repair on cardiopulmonary bypass support. In view of the extensive thromb...

Truncus arteriosus communis associated with underdevelopment of the aortic arch.

Two cases are reported of truncus arteriosus communis arising entirely from the right ventricle and associated with interruption in one case and tubular hypoplasia of the aortic arch in the other. A haemodynamic hypothesis of preferential blood flow is proposed to explain this rare association.

Single Stage Aortic Arch Replacement without Circulatory Arrest.

A 78-year-old man with a Kommerell diverticulum and aberrant right subclavian artery was admitted for thoracic pain and severe malnutrition due to esophageal compression. We performed an atypical surgical procedure including extra-anatomical debranching and direct aortic repair, trying to avoid deep hypothermic circulatory arrest and shorten the cardiopulmonary bypass time.
